Where did Fall go?

Now that Winter weather is upon us, so are the holidays!! I used to love cold weather because it meant that my birthday would soon be here. Since I am about to turn 30 next month (yes 30!), I am no longer quite so excited about celebrating. However, now I have a new birthday to celebrate...Austin's!!! I have already started to plan his big day, discovering that baby's first birthdays are WAY more for the Moms than the babies. But, I love parties!! Bubby has been spending alot of time with Pops this weekend while I got ready for our yard sale and again on Sunday while Mimi and I went to the Christmas Show. Bubby is also learning to pull up on things! I know, the kid can't really crawl, mostly scoot and now he's pulling up!!! He stood up twice in the pack n play not holding on or anything!! Mommy hasn't seen it yet, only Daddy and Pops. It makes me nervous to think about him walking!!

Halloween 2008

Halloween was alot of fun at The Lawwill house! Although, we didn't spend much time here at the house...lol! First, that afternoon it was off to see The Reed Family at Mom-Maw's house. Mimi, Pops, Mom-Maw and Pop-Paw were all pleased to see Tigger knock at their door! Austin and his milk allergic self made out like a bandit with presents instead of candy! Then it was on to Nana M's where we made a visit next door to the Bennett's as well. Then we rushed home just as the sun went down to trick-or-treat with Natalie and Harrison! But, the afternoon of events were starting to wear on Bubby and he fell asleep half way through. Finally, we made an appearence to the Stallings VFD Fall Festival. Tigger slept through the entire event! Oh well, there's always next year.

Once home we climbed into our Halloween pj's and woke up only to play for a few more hours!!! Overall, Halloween was alot of fun and it will be even more fun next year!

No more ear infections!!!

This month I have been very slack about blogging. I am finally getting back to a normal work schedule after three weeks of training. At least for two weeks, then back for more training (ugh!) Austin got another ear infection two weeks ago and the ENT said, "No more, it tube time". He recommended tubes immediately! So, once we were finished at the doctor we decided it was a perfect day for a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We went to Hunter Farm in Weddington. It was awesome!! There was so much to do for kids, hayrides, petting zoo and OF COURSE pumpkins!! Although, I think Bubby was more interested in the kids and the straw hay than the pumpkins. But let's ne honest, this was all about Mommy's scrapbooking than anything (at least for this year). We got some really adorable pics! Then last Wednesday morning at 6:15am we were at Presbyterian Surgery Center for tubes. It is the quickest procedure ever! Took maybe 10 minutes once we left him with the nurses. I HATED leaving him, scares a mom awful!

Next Step:Crawling

This week has flown by with lots of milestones. On Monday we saw the ENT, Dr. Sicard. He said recommends that we wait six weeks to see if another ear infection occurs. However, little man still has fluid on his ears, which is not a good sign! On Tuesday, we saw Dr. Maharajh for our 9mth. checkup. It went really well! Austin is now 18.5 lbs. and 28 1/2 in. Which means he is now in the 25% for weight and around 65% for height. He did suggest we do a blood panel to find out why milk is giving Austin such a hard time, so we'll see about that. We are still rocking our cranial band. Looks like at least another few months with that, since we have our second band now. I just hate he has had it for so long, I would love to see more of that cute little head! He has graduated to a 10-12 day visit now instead of every week! Thank goodness, but Pops has been a lifesaver helping out.

Austin has really begun moving and scooting, he loves moving in a circle . He hasn't figured out the knees need to move, too. But, that's ok. He'll get it. Just today when I dropped him off at daycare, the director wanted to talk to me about moving him up. So, just as soon as a few new babies start, Austin will go into the Step Up Room. Austin is getting to be such a big boy!!! That's good though, that's what baby boys do!

Happy Autumn!!!

Austin was 9 mths. old on Monday, September 22, 2008. This just happened to be the first day of Fall, which seems fitting for the child who was born on the first day of Winter. We documented this occasion with a trip to Portrait Innovations! What a wonderful place Moms!! We had a busy week of doctors appointments, afternoons with Pops, and tasting pickles at McAlisters. (WOW, who know four teeth could take such a chunk out of a pickle!) Next week we are going to find out about getting tubes.

Almost Nine Months

Austin will be nine months old in less than a week. He has now been here longer than I was ever pregnant. (WOW-can't believe it) Time has absolutely flown by!! Even as I listen to him whine while I type, I can truly say the love I feel for him is indescribable. He is such a blessing and gift from above.
